A decision tool for homeowners, not a campaign
Housebright exists because the gap between a good home-energy upgrade and an expensive one is usually a few numbers, and those numbers are rarely presented plainly.
What we do
We cover four categories: solar panels, home batteries, heat pumps and EV chargers. For each one we publish a decision page setting out who it suits, what to check and what a good quote contains, supported by long-form guides and a working solar calculator that lets you test the arithmetic with your own figures. The scope is narrow on purpose.
We are writing for people deciding how to spend several thousand pounds of their own money. That means plain English, visible assumptions and a healthy scepticism about sales claims, whichever direction those claims point in.
What we are not
- We are not an installer and we do not fit equipment.
- We are not an energy supplier and we do not sell tariffs.
- We are not a climate campaign. Reducing emissions is a genuine benefit, but this site is about whether an upgrade works for your house and your budget.
- We are not a lead-generation form wearing a blog as a disguise.
- We do not publish invented reviews, ratings, savings figures or customer counts.
Editorial standards
- Date-stamped research. Any figure that can change, such as a grant value or a scheme deadline, carries the month we last checked it.
- No paid rankings. Nobody can buy a recommendation, a higher position or a softer caveat on this site.
- Visible assumptions. Every calculator default is labelled as an assumption and can be edited, so you can test the answer rather than accept it.
- Sources named. We link to official scheme pages and name the type of source behind a figure, and we do not invent citations.
- Corrections welcomed. Where a dated official source is newer than our page, the official source overrides us.
- Commercial relationships disclosed. Any future partner arrangement will be stated on the page where it applies, not buried in a footer.
How we are funded
Housebright expects to earn commission from partners in future when readers request quotes or buy through the site. There are no active partner arrangements at present, and there are no affiliate links on the site today. The full position is set out on the affiliate disclosure page, and commercial relationships never change an editorial conclusion.
We do not publish traffic or audience claims. We are a young independent project and would rather say so than dress it up.
