Calculators
Compare upgrades with your own numbers
Every Housebright calculator runs in your browser, stores nothing, and shows the assumptions behind each result. They produce estimates to argue with, not quotes to accept.
Solar savings calculator
Deliberately narrow
We publish one calculator, and we publish it properly.
Solar is where the arithmetic is most often obscured and where the sums are most worth checking, so that is where we have put the tool. We would rather maintain one calculator that is accurate and fully documented than a shelf of half-considered ones.
For batteries, heat pumps and EV charging, the decision pages and guides set out the arithmetic explicitly, including which figures to ask an installer for, so you can work through your own case without a form standing in the way.
How to read any result here
A calculator is a structured argument, not a prophecy. Ours use straightforward arithmetic with no hidden fudge factors, which means the output is only ever as good as the figures you put in and the assumptions you accept.
Where a default appears, it is labelled as an assumption and set conservatively. Change it. The point of these tools is to let you test how sensitive the answer is to the numbers a salesperson would prefer to choose for you.
